AQA
I designed and built the microsite mathsbigchanges.com for the exam board. There were iterative meetings with Marketing and Content Managers throughout the three weeks I was onsite in Guildford.
Joules Clothing
For this short one week contract in Market Harborough, I mocked up, defined and improved the design and layout for exisitng ecommerce and catalogue webpages in Photoshop files.
English Heritage
I was employed for six weeks as an interim Senior Web Designer, designing microsites to internal client specifications and brand guidelines. I was trained in Amaxus CMS, built web pages, customised CMS templates, coded Flickr feeds and coached Designers/Editors.
Global Marketing Group
I engaged in consultancy for the development, on-page SEO and social media of a number of company websites, including glow sticks and novelty products.
Bolderwood Solutions
I built HTML/Javascript training applications for Lloyds TSB, mainly in the area of complaints processes. I was involved in iterative agile processes, workshops and capturing client requirements. I also built and designed bolderwood.com and dealt with kick off SEO initiatives.
Windsor Telecom
I rebuilt the front-end and redesigned the look of windsor-telecom.co.uk. I coached and advised designers and developers on XHTML/CSS/DIV layouts and clear content structure/presentation. I advised the Marketing Manager on new media issues and provided design consultancy to all senior management.
Screwfix
I gained a broad knowledge of designing, coding and testing emails. I now have a familiarity with rendering across popular email client software (e.g. Gmail, Windows Live). I also designed web pages, landing pages and home page/affiliate banners.
Opodo
I created promotional pages within the UK website. Each week, I designed and coded an external newsletter. I edited content in databases and XML files as well as reworking flash banner animations via actionscript.
Oxfam
I designed and built individual web pages for different countries, highlighting emergency relief needs or conveying personal stories about where funding is spent. HTML and image asset production work. Web page redesigns. I also designed a Flash calendar incorporating a ‘History of Oxfam’ timeline.
Adgistics
Adgistics is a small software house that creates online advertising management systems for clients, such as adidas, Canon, Goodyear, Ford, Heineken and Vodafone. I branded the software user interfaces for each client incorporating their brand guidelines. I designed Photoshop mock–ups for the sales team.
Gartner
I designed and built European regional websites, including EMEA, Italy and Germany. I introduced usability, accessibility and QA guidelines. I produced, managed and delegated both graphical and technical web design projects. I trained staff in XHTML, CSS and Photoshop and managed regional editors.
Barclays
I was contracted, with my creative manager from Harrods, to set up the Barclays Interactive Design Centre. We rebuilt Barclays.com and updated numerous sections of the staff intranet, creating standardised html templates for further reuse. We improved usability and build quality throughout our time at Barclays. We hired and managed numerous contractors and built up professional working relationships with Stakeholders.
Harrods
I worked on Photoshop concepts and HTML templates for a variety of online projects. I photographed internal/external store shots. I managed a Content Developer and numerous contractors. In the absence of the Creative Manager, I managed design meetings, liaised with Directors, and assumed responsibility for the daily running of the design section.
